Installation

Individual products are bundled into different installers, which can be downloaded from the Download Page.
Below are the available installers, their included components, and installation instructions.

For detailed installation instructions of individual products, refer to their respective sections in this documentation.

Installer for Workstations

These installers extend Autodesk Vault Client and Autodesk Inventor environments.

powerGate Client

Provides the components required to connect Vault with ERP, PLM, and Autodesk Platform Services, including integration scripts and client-side extensions.

Installed components:

• powerGate Cmdlets and the .NET library

• PowerShell scripts and XAML files for ERP integrations

• powerJobs Client and powerEvents Cmdlets

• powerVault Cmdlets

• powerPLM Cmdlets for integration with Autodesk Fusion 360 Manage

• powerAPS Cmdlets for integration with Autodesk Platform Services

powerJobs Client

Adds automation capabilities within Vault Client and Autodesk Inventor, enabling execution of workflows and event-driven processes.

powerVault

Installs Cmdlets for accessing and manipulating Vault data through scripting and custom development.

Installer for Job Processors

These installers are intended for server-side automation and background processing.

powerGate Processor

Enables data synchronization via the Vault Job Processor with external systems such as ERP, PLM, and Autodesk Platform Services

Installed components:

• powerGate Cmdlets and the .NET library

• powerJobs Processor

• powerVault Cmdlets

• powerPLM Cmdlets

• powerAPS Cmdlets

powerJobs Processor

Enables automated execution of jobs such as file processing, publishing, and data export through the Vault Job Processor.

Installed components:

• powerJobs Processor

Requirements

All included applications extend Autodesk Vault Applications, so the Vault system requirements are leading.

Operating System: 64-bit only

• Microsoft Windows 10

• Microsoft Windows 11

Autodesk Vault Client: 2027 / 2026 / 2025 / 2024

• Vault Professional

Windows PowerShell: PowerShell 5.1 or higher

Install Locations

• All program libraries are placed under C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\[Vault Version]\Extensions.

• Cmdlets for powerEvents and powerAPS will be installed to C:\Program Files\coolOrange\Modules.

• Client customization files, e.g. scripts and module libraries, are placed in C:\ProgramData\coolOrange\Client Customizations.
  The script C:\ProgramData\coolOrange\Publish-Customizations.ps1 helps distribute the them to other Vault environments

• Shortcuts (e.g., Logs, Information, License Manager) are added to the Windows Start Menu for quick access.

Windows permissions

The current Windows user needs the following rights to activate products via the License Manager dialog, and for proper execution and synchronization of distributed scripts and modules.
These rights are automatically installed for “Everyone”:

C:\ProgramData\coolOrange\Client Customizations\ *	List folder / Read data, Write and Delete data

* Required by powerEvents for proper execution and synchronization of distributed scripts and modules on workstations.

Updates

To install the latest version of the above products, simply download and run the latest Installer.
It will automatically detect and upgrade existing installations to the newest version.

Uninstall

To remove the respective Installer and all included applications from your computer, you can:

• Run the setup file again. This will give you the option to repair or remove the applications. Choose Remove to uninstall all of the above applications.

• Go to Control Panel -> Programs and Features, find “coolOrange {Installer} for Vault …”, and select “Uninstall”.
